Many people have created a great survival kit that they can rely on should a disaster strike, but something that people often forget to do is check up on that survival kit on a yearly basis to make sure that the batteries are still working, that the NukAlert is intact and that any bottled or canned items are still in good condition and not yet expired. Examining the contents of a disaster kit should be done on at least a yearly basis and even if the kit never ends up being used, at least a person is considered very safe just in case.
